ICQ24 - It's a Wrap!
Posted 24 Feb, 2024 10:09 AM by Karl
It's a Wrap! The first Indiana Classic Quiz (ICQ) was a great success. We hosted 77 quizzers on 20 teams from six states. All teams quizzed in 9 preliminary rounds, facing 15 of 19 possible opponents, with the top six teams advancing to semi-finals. Cornerstone won a close Finals on a tie-breaker question. Top Quizzer was Chet Snyder from Lima Axis #2 and Top Memory Verse Quizzer was Emma Wright from The Annihilators (which we think is somewhere around Fort Wayne). Much appreciation to Olivet Nazarene University, which provided $18,000 in scholarships; $9000 for the top 3 teams, $4500 for the top 10 individuals, and $4500 for the top 10 memory verse quizzers. Full results are posted on this web site:

Thanks so much to One Church of Kokomo for hosting, to their staff and youth group, to all the officials and other helpers, to all the coaches, parents, drivers, siblings and quizzers who came to make the day what it was. Special thanks to Rodger Doss and Erin Doss who were local contacts and assisted with all aspects of the tournament. It was Rodger who suggested the name "Indiana Classic" - connecting this quiz with those run at South Bend on the same weekend for the past two years (South Bend Classic), and further back to the long-running Indianapolis Westside Quiz. We hope to make this quiz another long-running tradition.
We are on the church calendar for next year, so we're off to a good start with that. February 15, 2025 - put it on your calendars. We will likely cover Luke 1-21 or Luke 1-22.
If you attended this year, we solicit your suggestions. Spread the word and tell other teams about us. If you could not make it this time - we hope you'll join us next year. God Bless You - as you continue to lead young people through His Word!
